Assignment:

De Gezinsbond is seeking to make use of the local council elections – in October 2012 – to launch a survey on family-related policies. Our assignment is to present an attractive campaign to appeal to people to take part and provide a toolbox that De Gezinsbond can use to develop its own (digital) materials.

APPROACH:

Eye-catching appeal using online banners, advertisements in Gezinsbond magazines and mailings.

We looked at this through children's eyes. How do they see their municipalities? What would they like to change? The look and feel is warm, eye-catching, playful and fresh, with drawings by children depicting what children want and telling comments from children themselves.

Once we have parents' attention, we address them very directly: "Children have their own views on their neighbourhood. Do you? How family-friendly is your municipality?".

We appeal to them to take part in the survey and let them know that their opinions will actually get through to the municipality. That is the relevance of this campaign. It provides an easy route for citizens to get involved in (family-friendly) policies in their municipality.
