Assignment: 

Develop an awareness campaign to encourage Flemish entrepreneurs aged over 55 to think about succession planning for their business. To create a variant of this campaign, to increase awareness of the “Week van de Bedrijfsoverdracht" (Business Handover Week).

APPROACH: 

Handing over a business is a very sensitive issue: entrepreneurs are proud of their work and often feel that they are too young to hand over the reins. It was up to us to inform them about how long a business transfer can take and some of the obstacles involved, while giving them recognition for their hard work. The campaign was not intended to encourage them to stop trading immediately but to provide realistic information about handing over the business.

 

Every day entrepreneurs think about the future of their business and ensuring its survival through growth and innovation. Our campaign added another dimension to this process of thinking about the future: consider the future of your business after you stop working in it. Even if you are not ready to stop just yet.

 

We used a fun approach to talk to entrepreneurs about their worries: "How on earth could anyone replace me?", "Where can I find someone like that?".

 

In this case Fé. was responsible for media support, the tactical plan, creation of the concept and overall follow-up.

Result: 

The campaign received tremendous attention from the press, also during the “Week van de Bedrijfsoverdracht”. The campaign has only just come to an end and we are still awaiting the results. Many entrepreneurs have requested the information brochure both via the website and by telephone.
